Chatham County: Road rage shooting injures one.

Chatham County Police report that a shooting occurred on Highway 80 near Fort Pulaski, and one person was injured. The CEO of Chatham EMS, Chuck Kearns, stated that a female was shot in the back in a possible road rage incident. The police have apprehended the suspect. Due to the unpermitted Orange Crush event, thousands of people have packed the beach, causing traffic to back up on Hwy. 80 to Tybee Island all day.

CCPD has requested people to stay away from Tybee Island due to the gridlock caused by multiple accidents and incidents. Police detectives are currently gathering more information regarding the incident. This is an active story, and WJCL 22 News will provide updates.

Thousands of people have flooded the beach for the unpermitted Orange Crush event. All-day traffic has been backed up on Hwy. 80 to Tybee Island.

CCPD, just after 8 p.m. Saturday, asked people to stay away from Tybee Island because of the gridlock, saying they’re working multiple accidents and incidents.

Police say detectives are working to gather more information.
