(WKRN) \u2014 Friday night, a Murfreesboro road rage case ended with assault charges after what started as a fender bender evolved into a fight involving a metal pipe and a weed eater.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will go to bat for you and we will take out your weeds, too,\u201d John Michael Green laughed.<\/p>\n<p>It could easily be a new slogan for his company Green Pasture Lawn &amp; Landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis whole incident took place during one red light,\u201d his colleague Jonathan Osborn explained.<\/p>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<h2 class=\"promo-link\"><strong> Police stepping up patrols as car break-ins continue near BNA hotels <\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>It was rush hour Friday night when the two landscapers had just finished a job.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWe were rolling up to the intersection of Memorial and Clark right here,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s where Murfreesboro police say a driver attempting to merge sideswiped a car that Cheick Kafando was driving. Kafando, upset, reportedly began attacking the driver behind the wheel, eventually pulling a metal pipe from his trunk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe went to the victim\u2019s car and he was yelling at the window and raising and swinging the pipe aggressively,\u201d said Osborne, \u201cI leaned out at that point and I said, \u2018Hey, get back in your car it\u2019s not worth it, get back in your car.\u2019 He then diverted his attention to us and started walking towards the truck towards us aggressively. That\u2019s when both of us got out.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<h2 class=\"promo-link\"><strong> Number of guns stolen from cars soars as legislation is put on hold <\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>They were hoping their presence would scare off Kafando, but instead, they became his target.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr2_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI got out and I was looking for some hand tools that we have back here, but all we had was the wheelbarrow, backpack blower and my weed eater, so I pulled it out. The switch was off actually and I was standing there and just trying to start it and trying to get him back with it by hitting his feet with it and that\u2019s when he charged me with the lead pipe,\u201d said Green.<\/p>\n<p>The weed eater didn\u2019t work, and a fight broke out. The men say Kafando ended up punching both of them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGot me a good one right underneath the eye,\u201d said Osborn.<\/p>\n<p>Kafando then took off, but the lawncare company and several others followed him into a nearby parking lot.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr3_ab\"><\/aside>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<p class=\"amp-wp-b7c8fe8\">\u201cAs soon as we pulled in, I blocked the guy in,\u201d stated Green, saying police followed and arrested Kafando.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Today, many praises the lawn crew for stepping in as good Samaritans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would hope somebody would do that for me if I was in that situation.
